Result achieved with our method called “The Belebro Way”
Learn more about this method underneath the pictures of the hoof with the white line disease (loose hoof wall).
The Belebro Way hoof care is a method that uses a combination of, nutrition, exercise balance, lowering stress levels and Belebro Hoof Gel.
This method, The Belebro Way, promotes the healing process and helps the hooves recover.
Nutrition plays a crucial role in hoof health. Horses need a balanced diet to ensure healthy hoof growth. It is important to ensure adequate protein, vitamins and minerals in the horse’s diet.
Balanced exercise is an important factor in healthy hoof growth and development. Horses should get regular enough exercise so that the hoof mechanism (“the blood pump”) is stimulated regularly in a day which improves blood flow to the hooves. Regular exercise makes the hooves stronger. A Belebro horse-exerciser is an excellent tool to give the horses extra movement without stress (because of the way the horse-walkers are designed).
Stress has a negative impact on horses hoof health. It is important to provide a stress-free environment for the horse. This can be achieved by ensuring adequate exercise and distraction, and by limiting unnecessary stressors.
Finally, using Belebro Hoof Gel can help speed up the recovery process. Belebro Hoof Gel can be used to nourish and protect the hooves from outside influences which can help reduce discomfort and promote the recovery process.

Belebro Horsewalkers & Horse-exercisers
The most appropriate instrument to give horses a lot of good exercise is the horse exerciser in which the horses run without being tethered.
BELEBRO, specialist with the most experience!
Since 1986
The horse exerciser is an invention of Belebro. The Belebro model guarantees the most balanced construction, the least load, the least wear and tear and the greatest safety for the horses. The design is registered and internationally protected by law (WIPO no. DM/018398, 21 Dec. 1990).
Five factors can be trained that, according to research by the Research Station for Horse Husbandry in Lelystad, determine the performance:
Character: focused tempo training, whereby horses sometimes go to their utmost.
Quality of the legs: short and intense stimuli (interval training) improves bone tissue.
Coordination: by applying alternating movements at different speeds.
Flexibility: less stiffness
Reflexes: improvement to a great extent: considerably less risk of injury.
Results

Stress-free walking is the precondition for achieving the intended results with a Horse exerciser. Horses must become familiar with the exerciser in the right way, so that they move relaxed (‘over the back’) in the horse exerciser.
The horse exercise, fence, soil and environment are decisive factors for this. Good hooves are also essential for the proper functioning of organs and the musculoskeletal system as a whole (joints, muscles and tendons in legs, back, neck).
How to use Hoof Gel Belebro?
If you didn’t hear from our Hoof Gel Belebro through your local farrier or veterinarian, you might want some extra information on how to use our gels. We are happy to explain. By following our tips, you’ll most likely find our our gels areeasy to use. Don’t worry if the answer you’re looking for isn’t down below our customer service will be happy to assist. Just click the link and send in your question.
First things first: Why is our gel so sticky?
Let’s be honest: as soon as you open the can, we all have the same burning question: why must it be so sticky?
It has two main reasons. First, we need all the nutrients in all in the right places. The sticky base ensures all ingredients can absorb to their highest potential.
Second, horses generally walk in challenging environments. Mud, rain, snow, or maybe excessive sun are on a daily bases for most horses. The stickiness makes the Hoof Gel Belebro resistant to all weather conditions. Once applied, it stays on for 2-3 days.
Shaving does the trick
It may sound weird at first, but shaving is the golden trick. We always advise shaving the area you want to apply the gel. Not only is it cleaner to shave, but it also benefits the absorption of the active nutrients in the gel. If you don’t shave, the gel doesn’t reach its full potential due to the stiffness of the horsehair.
When using our Belebro Hoof Gel we advise shaving 2-3 centimeters starting from the hoof coronet up.
Please keep in mind to always use a shaver specially made for horses. As said, horsehair is very stiff, so don’t try to shave with a human shaver. Don’t worry if you don’t have a suitable one yourself. Almost any stable has one, so there’s a big chance your stablemate has one to borrow.
Keep things clean
- Please use (plastic) gloves or any spatula of your choice when applying the gel. It assures you can use your phone afterward without slipping through your fingers. Also, please note messing can make smooth surfaces extra slippery, and it could leave stains on certain types of clothes.
- Always stir Hoof Gel Belebro before using it to get the best results.
Last but not least
Once you’ve followed the steps described above, you are ready to apply our gel. Don’t be sparing and message the gel well onto the skin. For active use, we advise applying our Belebro Hoof Gel 1-2 times a week on the hoof coronet en just above. For maintenance, apply once every one or two weeks.
To shortly summarize:
- Shave
- Use gloves or a spatula of choice
- Stir before use
- Apply 1-2 times a week
